The company previously released the popular 24-70mm F2.8, which won wide acclaim for its excellent optical performance. Now it introduces an even more powerful and dynamic zoom - the new AF 35-150mm F2-2.8 FE. The new lens is a superb all-rounder, equally suited to photography and video. Its dynamic focal range covers a wide spectrum of shooting scenarios, from portraits to travel, from street to landscapes. The new lens has a maximum aperture of F2 at the wide end and F2.8 at the telephoto end, and covers the five most popular focal lengths: 35, 50, 85, 135, and 150 mm. With an optical design of 21 elements in 18 groups, combining 2 ASP, 1 HB, 3 H-ASP, and 6 ED elements, the lens delivers outstanding optical performance across the entire zoom range. UMC (Ultra Multi-Coating) technology is applied to the lens to minimize flare and ghosting, helping produce natural, clean images. The fast aperture effectively separates the subject from the background, while the 9 aperture blades create smooth, attractive bokeh. The lens's linear stepping motor (STM) is fast and extremely responsive, serving photographers and videographers alike. It delivers excellent focus tracking and smooth transitions. When shooting video, the AF speed can be set to move more gently, mimicking the focus pulls of cine lenses. When switching to linear MF, focus control matches the torque of the focus ring to manual focusing as closely as possible. The lens has a digital parfocal design specialized for video: once you have focused on the subject in MF mode, focus needs no readjustment - even when zooming. This lets filmmakers cut shooting time and capture precise, stable footage. Samyang has also managed to keep focus breathing to a minimum. The lens is fully weather-sealed, with sealing applied in 12 areas to prevent damage or contamination from dust, light rain, and snow. Custom switches and buttons on the side of the lens give the user complete control over it. Users can change their preferred functions via three custom switches. The switches let you change functions such as focus hold, dolly shot, aperture ring, and much more. More functions can be added in the future with the Samyang Lens Station. The MOD (minimum object distance) is just 0.33 meters. Combined with the lens's fast aperture, this produces a unique perspective up close to your subject, with a beautifully blurred background.
