Description

SmallRig Cage for Nikon Z 8 3940B is a full aluminum-alloy cage that protects the camera body and provides mounting points for a handle, monitor, microphone and other accessories. A bottom 1/4"-20 screw, locating screw and right-side locking adapter secure the camera, while rubber pads protect its surface. Buttons, card slots, the articulating screen and battery door remain accessible. ARRI locating holes, a NATO rail, cold shoes, QD sockets and strap slots offer flexible rig-building options, and the integrated Arca-Swiss base makes switching between a tripod and compatible DJI RS gimbal straightforward. This is the standalone cage, supplied without a camera, top handle or cable clamp.

Secure fit, accessible controls

A bottom 1/4"-20 screw, locating screw and right-side lock secure the camera. Rubber pads protect its surface while controls, card slots, screen and battery remain accessible. The diagram shows the bottom screw (1) and side locking points (2, 3).

Switch from tripod to gimbal

The built-in Arca-Swiss base supports Arca-type tripod heads and compatible DJI RS stabilizers. SmallRig lists DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 5. This lets you change support modes while keeping the cage and mounted accessories on the camera.

The illustrated tripod and gimbal are sold separately. Check clearance for the complete setup and balance the stabilizer before use.

Before installation, remove the split D-ring on the right side of the camera. Follow the supplied manufacturer manual when tightening the locking points. The camera and illustrated accessories are sold separately.
