Rode VideoMic Pro Rycote professional video microphone

The Rode Videomic Pro Rycote is a supercardioid video microphone that connects to the audio input of most professional and consumer cameras and DSLRs through its 3.5 mm (mini) jack connector, and mounts securely on the camera via the shoe mount. We offer a unique 10-year warranty on this microphone! Over the past years Rode's broadcast and video microphone range has won more and more recognition in Hungary as well. Hundreds of camera operators and event videographers have already swapped the typically noisy internal microphone and mic preamp of semi-professional - and even professional - cameras for the directional Videomic, with its outstanding sound quality (in the low range too). Building on that line, in January 2011 Rode launched its newest video microphone, the Videomic Pro. In 2015 the microphone got a facelift, and this product is now made with the Rycote Lyresuspension as well, just like the VideoMic Rycote and the VideMic Go. With the Videomic Pro Rycote (compared with the Videomic Rycote) the Australian engineers clearly targeted users of higher-end cameras and DSLRs. They reduced the size of the microphone, extended the running time on a 9V battery, cut the microphone's self-noise drastically and, with the Rycote Lyre suspension, practically eliminated the disturbance caused by external physical vibration. With the Videomic Pro Rycote, too, the stereo mini jack connector puts the sound on both the right and the left channel of the recording, so no correction (channel copying) is needed afterwards. According to Rode, the best sound quality and the lowest-noise recording are achieved with the Videomic Pro Rycote when the microphone is used with +20dB gain (the sensitivity switch is on the back of the microphone) and the audio input level of the camera or stills camera is turned down. That reduces the effect of the poorer, noisier preamp and brings forward the clean, low-noise sound of the Videomic Pro Rycote.
